BUILT-IN AGENT PROFILES

Same power. Three ways to think.

Choose the style of each city, then watch the restricted agents execute all eight rounds. These built-ins are deterministic policy agents, not model or LLM calls. Each personality combines a base tendency with capped public city abilities and the legal actions available that round.

No autonomous network access

Built-in agents cannot browse, crawl, call tools, or contact external networks. URLand seals public website metadata before the match. Agents receive only fog-safe state and legal commands.

The rules reserve 512 tokens and 10 seconds as future sandbox caps. The current deterministic policy agents do not consume either budget.

THE THREE STRATEGIES

Pick a temperament. Every city starts equal.

Beginner default

The Steward

Recommended for beginners

Starts from a balanced civic tendency, then adapts to capped site abilities and the current round cadence.

Strength
The clearest first pick: reliable source-backed construction with no single exposed specialty.
Counter
Early pressure can deny its preferred setup before the city compounds value.
Adaptive tendency

Balances civic growth, protection, and counterattack.

Each personality adapts its base tendency to capped public city abilities and the legal actions available this round.

Scout and challenger

The Vanguard

Shifts the site-derived posture toward initiative and chooses the first legal actions in that cadence.

Strength
Fast frontier pressure against an exposed objective or unfinished structure.
Counter
Defense and fortification absorb its burst while its raid enters cooldown.
Adaptive tendency

Biases the city posture toward initiative and early attack.

Each personality adapts its base tendency to capped public city abilities and the legal actions available this round.

Guardian and planner

The Warden

Shifts the site-derived posture toward protection and chooses the first legal actions in that cadence.

Strength
Prevents temporary damage and makes objectives expensive to challenge.
Counter
Scouting and construction can outscore a position that stays defensive for too long.
Adaptive tendency

Biases the city posture toward protection and retaliation.

Each personality adapts its base tendency to capped public city abilities and the legal actions available this round.

THE SHARED PLAYBOOK

Six strategies. Two unit commands. No secret moves.

Observe is automatic and End turn is protocol-only. Every built-in profile uses the six-command strategic policy below. The engine also accepts Deploy unit and Move unit from compatible submissions when their prerequisites are legal.

  1. 01Scout depth

Reveal one deterministic deeper cohort and gain Depth Intel, or gain equal-cost Civic Intel without claiming a page reveal.

  2. 02Scout breadth

Reveal up to three deterministic cohorts and gain Breadth Intel, or gain equal-cost Civic Intel without claiming a page reveal.

  3. 03Construct

Consume one token and create one three-Integrity frontier outpost.

  4. 04Fortify

Apply two shield points through the next round, capped at two.

  5. 05Raid

Cross one explicit neutral-frontier transit step, then deal two temporary damage after defense and shield.

  6. 06Defend

Prevent the first two raid damage against that target this round.
